AMD X2 5000, what is the core 2 duo equiv?

C2 cpus really that good? I'm getting offered a good deal on 5600 AMD X2cpu, still go for Intel?
Basically i should rephrase. which CPU would give me the best value for money, per pound. Obviously if i'm going back to Intel i'm going to need a new mobo so i want to be really able to notice the difference if i'm splashing the extra cash.

Hmmmmmmmm i'm still thinking amd x2 5600.
The price difference is too much i think. I should point out i'm not needing to be on the bleeding edge of technology all the time either.
Ok think i shall go for the amd 5600. Any one point me to any good review sites. the 5600 isn't on tomshardware becnhies yet.
