Can anyone tell me whats the temp. for the cores? Mine is at 60C is that normal or that is rather hot?

I am using Arctic Freezer 64.

Can anyone recommend me a better one?

thx!

60C load or idle? As a load temp its good, as idle its horrendus. If its idle then i'd check if the sink is on ok and your case cooling is adequate.

60C on idle. :/ There isnt any dust sticking on my cpu fan nor on the heat sink. I just applied thermal paste like 2 weeks ago.

I have to use an external fan ocassional blowing the case. My case is opened atm, and its an akasa eclipse 62, more than enough space if you are thinking of cram-ness :D

Well the only thing I can think of is the CPU cooling heat sink not workin to its efficient level. Other than that everything is up to date, as in the case fan etc.

hi there
i used to run dual opterons 2220 se and they sat at 60 degrees they were the 125 watts the same as the athlon 6000 you,re running ihad akasa 859 heatsinks on them but they used to keep overclocked x2's at 30 degrees idle ....i just think 125 watt models need water to cool them

Anyways this is my session I had:

Session start: 1:23:36, August 3, 2007
CPUID: 0x40F33
Processor: AMD Athlon 64 6000+ (Windsor)
Revision: JH-F3

Dont think this is good right....

Run customers with them coolers and they run with fan at 50% using Speedfan at about high 30's to low 40's IDLE in warmish rooms (amb temps vary), when it hits 42C the fan speeds up.

My own is cooled by a Noctua NH-U12F fitted with a TT 120mm SilentCat fan again at 50% controled by Speedfan and is 28C-32C IDLE is warmish room (amb temps vary) and wont pass 52C-55C at any overclock which 3.4GiG seems to be my max so far, also the overclock so far makes no difference to my IDLE temps.

dont think so my x2 6000 is running at 29 idle and 45 load :p im using a zalman cnps 9700 , OP have u got cool and quite on in the bios if not put it on right away also while in windows right click desktop>properties>screensaver>power> then select MINIMAL POWER MANAGEMENT from the drop down list this will run you cpu at 1ghz idle and when load gradually increase it will change the multiplyer from 5 upto 15 which is 3ghz

I used X2 6000+ with Thermaltake Venus 12 heatsink included white thermal paste - just drop wee bit of paste and spread all the core very thinner that make it stay cooler at 20<>31 full load - idle is 14<>18 (I used CNQ - enabled via BIOS as I used GA-M59SLI-S5).. heatsink fan run at 3540rpm - I used Tt Armor case with 25cmn fan on window side panel

I had pretty high temps with my 64pro and x2 6000 (I was at 50-54 on idle). I lapped the 64pro until it was flat and smooth, applied AC5 and temps went down 38 at idle (it's overclocked to 3.2 though, won't stay stable after that).

Hope it helps.

I have exactly that setup but I'm running it 46 idle..hmm...I may have to look into this :/
