AMD X2 Drivers / Tweaks?

My mate has just built a new system with a X2 4200+ and from what I can see only 1 core seems to be functional at the moment.

Does he need to enable 2 cores in bios or is there some special Driver required?

How can he easily tell if two cores are working?

Windows need to have the AHCI Multiprocessor thing installed, its done by a full reinstall and can be done without reinstalling but I don't know how.

i tried them on my brothers yesterday and they didnt do any good i had to format to get them working. he went from a 300 amd 64 to a 5200 x2

I powered off my system, installed the new multi-core CPU, booted and Windows detected new hardware!

If it doesn't work like this for you I suspect the BIOS is not seeing the multi-core?
