Hi,

Ive just put my system together, and for the most part everything is cool.

Im starting to find out there are some problems with certain games, in all honesty i was totally unaware of this before buying. The mood im in at the moment, kind of make's me wish i hadnt just spent out £1200....

Example - World of Warcraft has a 64fps cap on duel core chips (27page thread here)
http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.aspx?FN=wow-tech-support&T=511053&P=27

Although it doesnt really bother me that much, it's kind of anoying to be only able to achieve a max of 64fps when on my 4 year old agp rig, with an x800 i could get close to 70-80fps in open areas.

so that kind of bug's me, but anyway - back to the topic of this post.

MOST of my other games seem to be working, guildwars, everquest2, quake4 (looks stunning) but the one im having real problems with is half life 2 (source engine games for that matter)

Im getting massive pauses shortly after the game starts, lasting for like 2 seconds a time. Does anyone know anything about this? is it a known x2 problem? i've seen so many benchmarks using x2's and half life 2 that i cant belive it is.

Are there any known other problems with popular/new games? or a website with patches.

Ive done a full windows update,

The rig ive just built:

AMD x2 4800+
Asus A8R32-MVP Deluxe
Asus EAX 1900XT-X Rad
2GB XMS 4000pt Corsair
700watt FSP
3x seagate baracuda's

Any ideas/comments. Anything to cheer me up would do.
