Definitions of lockdown on the Web:

* the act of confining prisoners to their cells (usually to regain control during a riot)

Seems obvious to me!
 
Not sure if you can do that but try going into Device Manager and under the "Computer" reinstall driver to "ACPI Uniprocessor PC (think that's what it's called)" instead of multiprocessor.

Or simply go into task manager and set the affinity of the application to either core 0 or core 1.
 
download a small program called RunFirst.exe if you want to start a particular prog with just 1 core. usefull for me with the odd game that dont play right on dual core like painkiller. drop it in prog dir and add it in the icon in front of the command name and good to go.
 
thx for the replys guys , yes sry jokester i mean i was after disableing one core on processor as i am haveing trouble with sli in pacific fighters :) thx madmatty that looks promising i will try that :)
 
just been doing sim but with cod uo as it seems to stutter ist time i join a server but if i disable 1 core it plays smoother easy way to do it is just alt tab delete task man then click on process then set infintiy take core off.
