AMD X2 s939 backing plates?

Hi all

Do the AMD X2 s939 4800+ units come with a backing plate? I want to fit a ThermalRight SI-120 to the CPU on an AsRock 939Dual-SATA2 mobo, but the Thermaltake website says:

Since the Asrock (and Gigabyte) K8 boards use push-pin type RM's, there is no backplate in the back of motherboard to support Thermalright’s customized RM. You will need to purchase separately a metal K8 backplate.

If the AMD doesnt come with a backing plate, any idea where can I get one from?

I'm fairly sure that the AMD cpus do not come with a backing plate. If you look on the thermalright website under the 'Accessories' area, you can see which you need.

I can't tell you where to get one from as it would be a competitor. You will have to search around.
 
I find it pretty damn harsh how people can't help others out because of this no competitor rubbish, it anoys me.
Especially when most of us buy everything from overclockers anyway, does it really matter that much lol, e-mails for the win I guess.

Well we all knew this when we signed up to the forums. OcUK pay for the hosting and bandwidth required to run this forum and I think its only fair for us to show a bit of respect towards them.
 
(Think I just found a K8 metal backing plate from a previous s754 cooler.... its amazing what you find :) )

I do respect them, thats why I buy mostly everything I own from them, well hardware anyway hehe, I just don't like it when people can't just get a simple answer when they need to know something, its not that I don't respect there rules.
 
i think you should be allowed to aswell all this sounds like and email me is ********

to me it says we cant beat someone on price so we will keep it quiet and charge them more
