AMD X4 880 to I5 4690

Hi all

currently running a Amd X4 880 but have been offered a second hand I5 4690K, would it be worth me swapping to this. Normally play games like COD and looking forward to BF1.

Definitely a very good/big upgrade, and one eminently suitable for pretty much every game released with the notable exception of Battlefield 1 (depending on who you believe).

That's an upgrade from 'entry level' to 'high end', you should notice a framerate improvement unless you're playing at very high resolutions and/or with a very slow GPU.

The I5 4690K will hammer the Athlon, but if it's a worthwhile upgrade depends on the graphics card and the resolution of the monitor. Once you add the motherboard and OS to the price of the CPU it might not be worth it for gaming.
