OK ive got the above CPU along with a Asus M5A99FX EVO motherboard, the OCUK Avenger case and the arctic cooling freezer 7 pro cooler and my problem is this:

Ive clocked it to 3.5ghz @ 1.275v and when i run prime after 20 minutes i easily reach 62c, i recently purchased IC diamond 24 and went exactly according to its application instruction video on their website and still made no difference.

Last night I decided to drop the clock down a bit so i can drop the volts more and @ 3.4ghz and 1.25v im still able to climb to 61c after about 15 minutes, this is all in an average temperature room and its not hot over here at all especially for summer.

I actually applied the IC diamond 3 tmies as i couldnt believe this miracle stuff made no difference each time to my temps and thought I actually had a bad heatsink seating.Do I need to invest in a better cooler for my rig or will I be fine at these temps?

My freezer 7 could not cool this cpu effectively at 3.5GHz. I now use a TRUE extreme 120 with an apache and idle at 32C with max 52C in prime max heat.

I think that this will be the solution, I only have two airflow fans at low rpm 1 120mm inlet and 1 120mm exhaust. I run the OC 24/7.

thx for the reply nkata, yeah i was kinda thinking the cooler a bit puny but didnt want to believe it as it runs so damn quiet :)

So you reckon putting a beefier cooler in and thats all it is then, thx for the feedback from a fellow 1055t owner

the freezer 7 is a good cooler, but I found that it was running quite fast even if quiet and as you say quite hot.

The apache under most normal conditions stays below 500rpm and is silent. there are equally effective solutions to the TRUE but all need to be bolted through the MB I think. You may well be OK as prime temps are rarely reached unless using seti or similar but I think a better cooler will suit.

good luck, andy.

yeah I know prime pushes far harder than real world use but id like to be safe than sorry and keep the temps down as much as i can, cheers for the input guys
