AMD XP 2100+ Fast Enough for the Software Decoder for WinTV PCI Card?

Hi

Im thinking of buying a Hauppauge WinTV Nova-T PCI Freeview card for my iDEQ with 1GB DDR RAM, AMD Athlon XP 2100+, and soon to be added nVidia 6200. The PC will only ever be running media centre to watch/record TV and show pictures and music from accross a LAN (5 other PCs max). The WinTV cards use the PCs CPU for decoding the signal rather than a hardware decoder on the card itself. will my current specs be enough to cope with this without reducing the quality of the picture?

I would guess so, but you can get athlon64's for under £50

Considering that a 550mhz pentium 3 can do it, I would say yes.
