AMD Zen 5 rumours

I would go 9000 regardless, if gaming only the 9800x3d will be cracking choice, mixed load you won't go far wrong with a 9950x, if your happy to wait thought the 9950x3d could be the way to go, sometimes next year though.

I've just seen there is a 7950x3D as well didn't know about this, would you still go 9000?

I'm looking at an X670e rather than an X870E although the price difference is not much

Hopefully the X670e prices will drop further
I was hoping this, they probably will but not quick enough for me.
Currently there is only a £8 difference between the x670 and X870 versions so Im going X870 even though the X670 is in fact X670E as I want the clear CMOS button on the rear panel rather than a hard to get to jumper :D
Im probably going to go for 6000 RAM as Im getting ahead of myself, I have to remember it is a mini ITX build so cooler RAM will help the rest of the build temps. Im too used to having a full tower to play around in

The board has arrived, plus other parts for the build are ready

Cracking service from OCUK as normal.

I wish I could afford this sort of stuff. Congrats btw it looks awesome. Fancy donating an old card........ :( I'm only joking btw, but it would cheer me up no end.

I'm not in a rush so I will wait a few weeks so what happens with prices

Just updating the bios on my board and this is noted under the description:

Add "TDP to 105W" option for particular processors.

What is that for then do we wonder?

EDIT: the AGESA PI 1.2.0.2 microcode itself, which introduces the 105 W cTDP mode for the 9700X and 9600X

@LtMatt - Planning on jumping on 9950X3d but for now using 7950X3D on a Gigabyte X670E Pro X. I already have one kit of

G.Skill Royal RGB XMP 32GB (2x16GB) DDR5 PC5-51200C32 6400MHz Dual Channel Kit

Do you see me having any issues running 2 of these kits at DDR5 6000 CL30 on my current set up or teh 9950X3D?

No seriously I'm battling depression, and I've had worrying blood results in the last few days. I've just had a letter this morning telling me to contact the surgery as quick as possible. They found 'anomilies' in my blood. But they won't tell me what it is yet. Sorry for being wildly off topic but I don't know where else to share it. Sorry again.

We can't fix anything but you can vent at least. Hope it turns out to be nothing for you.

I'm looking at the Royal as well, I don't think overclockers do the Expo version?

Anyone tried the XPM version on the 9000 chips?

Also having got advice and read a lot online it seems AM5 does not like 4 sticks of ram and majority are saying stick with 2 sticks

So just a general question regarding the 4 sticks of RAM. I will be building a 9000x3d (12 or 16 core, depends on cache on two ccd performance) next year with x870 board. Will get 64gb on two sticks however with regard to compatibility with 4 sticks in the future is the issue confined to old x670 and 7000 chips or is it still an issue with the new stuff ?

Btw it doesn't really matter as 64gb will serve me fine but just interested as I have had no problems running 4 sticks at 3600mhz on my 5900x
