AMD Zen 5 rumours

It's not terrible I guess, slower all core than a 9700x but no idea of single core yet.
Are we assuming the same seems as the 7800x3d and 7700x ?

I'm tempted to switch my 7800X3D to a 9800X3D and then give my wife the 7800X3D and upgrade her 5800X3D. I've been wanting to get her onto AM5 so this looks a good opportunity.

Similar situation as I have a separate 5600X AM4 ITX rig that I use for LANs and gaming at friends so, if I jump to 9800X3D, I'll use the 7800X3D to upgrade the ITX machine to AM5.

Do you lose much outside of games with the X3D chips.
9900X or 9900X3D obviously gaming but also 4k video editing.

Should be a nice upgrade from my 3700X

Hi guys,

Rather than start a whole new thread, I just wondered if this was normal?

Just got 7800XT to replace 6700XT, tested it out on HZD and Throne and Liberty - AMD's software showing CPU at 100% for both games, GPU is not going past 80%? - CPU is 5700X.

Never saw the CPU anywhere near maxed out before with 6700XT.

Oh i'm playing at 34" UW 3440x1440p.

Not played HZD for a while. It used to do a shader compilation at the beginning. But that should last about 5 mins. A driver change will start a recalculation. If it’s still 100% after 10 mins something is not right.

Yeah, something is up, it's stuck on 100%, but it'd also stuck on 34.4 degrees temp, and 11.1 watts - all those things can't simultaneously be true!

:D
