AMD Zen 5 rumours

Says
9900x3d £600
9950x3d £700

Thinking doing the extra step up and getting the 9950x3d and then not worry about a CPU for a few years
Like I did with my i7 5960x, the last CPU I brought my self 10 years ago
Problem is, I now feel my 5070ti and 32gb ram is under kill and need upgrading

I was hoping to get 2x Gen 5 m.2s for the x870-e Hero. Unfortunately only one Gen 5 and one Gen 4 is possible without limiting to 8x from my understanding.

Not the greatest move.

You'd need to be moving files about to get any benefits of Gen5 just now. I'd bet you'd not tell the difference between the two gen4 and gen 5 in day to day general use.

Should be £650 after conversion and VAT

It’s not the point. You should be able to use 2x gen 5 without it affecting lanes.

I only bought the gen 5 drives because they were cheaper than the gen 4.

compared to 9950X 5% improvement in multithreaded apps, and occasional improvement in single threaded too, interesting
In things that should not care about cache. Could be improved silicon quality compared to first Zen5 batches I think. Logically same should be seen in 9950X fresh out of factory vs early review samples

I'm assuming they're just not as exciting, the 9950X3D is what we expected so the 9900X3D probably will be too, i.e. slower than a 9800X3D in gaming by a bit but mostly faster in multithreaded stuff.

The 9900X3D could be significantly slower than the 9800X3D, due to having only 6 cores per chiplet, and thus having only 6 cores with 3D V-Cache, compared to 8 on the 9800X3D.

The orange place has 9950x3d on sale for £780

9900x3d listed as coming soon as well on same site

Edit: now says discontinued, must have noticed the mistake

The 9550x cost £70 more there than OC. I have noticed the 9550x is £50 cheaper at the purple shop than at OC. Think I've made a mistake and put my order in too soon. I was waiting for the 9550x3D I didnt know it was out so soon so I ordered the 9550x with all my other stuff about 10 days ago 2 items are still on pre-order so it might be just best for me to cancel the 9550x and order the 3D when it's in stock.
