Intel are way down on most of the benchmarks. So far down you almost lose them.
I know it's only SPEC, but a lot of the multicore AT charts dominated by that Ampere Altra 80 core ARM server chip which not bad for such a tiny player.

You can play Crysis without a GPU so kinda.

You are right of course but running the numbers makes things very interesting... even if intel gave me 8280's and I had to buy the AMD servers the TCO still falls in favour of AMD. I moved to EPYC on Rome as those calculation even then were the same. Now it's even more embarrassing.
Now imagine deployment in thousands, and verification process for that. The market is much more lazy than desktop market

Its because companies dont really upgrade/changes servers very often... But if a company was thinking about getting new servers as a new company, or thinking of expanding, then they will almost 100% go with AMD because it makes 0 sense to pick Intel

I know plenty of DC's that are literally deploying in the thousands... Market share takes time, depreciation of assets takes time, I don't doubt that the landscape will change significantly over the next 5 years or so if AMD keep delivering on their roadmap. I actually have some Milan silicon for testing so over the next few weeks will try and share some thoughts.
No idea on general availability but ive been given a couple of chips to test and been told I can have any chip in the lineup at short notice so im guessing pretty good.

Right now it doesn't look like they are letting off, the products for x86 deployments are in a league all of their own. I can't wait to see how intel properly counter because offering chips for free doesn't really cut it when paying for the alternative still works out cheaper.
