3600 (£200) to 5600 (£300) is a 50% increase
Isn't the 5800x more aligned with the 3800x? 105W tdp, similar boost clocks etc. In that case the entire range is $50 more.
Intel is now the budget gaming option.
Surely the price increases have to change peoples perception of "Good guy AMD".
Prices increases are always crap, and AMD are just as "bad" as any company, but AMD look to have the best stuff on the planet so it is what it is. But I expect double standards as usual.
$50, not 50%
It’s the same it’s just got an x on the end. They only have one 6 core on offer and it’s still a 50% increase on what I paid. Too much of an increase for me to spend. Not the same skew.

Sorry dude but I brought on release for that price. You don't compare current sales prices to the release prices though. That is just daft. You compare their release price to release price. Just like everyone does with Intel & Nvidia but for some reason don't with AMD.
Thanks. I guess on the lower price point it is a bigger hike than at the higher price point.Yeah it's a $50 price creep
But what's the point in that? If you're going to claim leadership in a certain metric you have to make apples-to-apples comparisons as best you can. The 2080 Ti was the card of choice for benching CPUs in gaming reviews. If AMD are going to show they now beat Intel in gaming then they must do so with as identical system as possible. And that means 2080 Ti.because they have their own gpus![]()
Look at the Ryzen 5 range. The 65W TDP Ryzen 5 5600X is $300,and the 65W TDP Ryzen 5 3600 was $200.
The Ryzen 5 5600XT is only $30 cheaper than the Ryzen 7 3700X launch pricing.
Apparently so. AMD did the same rubbish with the Athlon 64.
That's fair enough. I do wonder though if we reversed the position what would Intel's prices look like? I'm happy to wait it out![]()
Exactly. More profit = also more for further R&D too. Intel are not going to just roll over and die so will need to keep up development. Not sure about Navi and not in the market for an AMD GPU anyway. I can't unhear Big Knobby now after listing to that. I either need new speakers or new ears. Each time she said it I heard Big Knobby. So amd now kicks ass. Why on earth would they undercut intel they got a winning product. Things can only get better all round. Let’s just hope they don’t drop the ball with navi
Again it’s a 6 core vs 6 core their is no non x version so the equivalent replacement for me is 50% more expensive. No one brought a 3600x because they weren’t good value.3600X to 5600X?
And in that very video they say AMD has said they have no current plans for any more SKUs.You're not comparing like for like here though, you need to look at 3600X vs. 5600X.
