AMD

Hi, I not so long back made a post about building a new system, and I got some great reply's and advice from you guys before, so I though I'd ask again =]

AMD Phenom X4 Quadcore 9950. I've read nothing but outstanding reviews, is it as good as people say it is? I'd like to get on the QC scene, but sadly my funds don't permit me to do so via Intel, would this be a good purchase?

Well, I'm into heavy hours of gaming, I do use a lot of programs like Sony Vegas and Adobe After Effects.

I'm just looking to see if it's future proof for games, would it run the new releases on full detail with out any trouble?

Or would I be better off waiting until the new year? When AMD release something new to compete with the i7 chip

Is this a new (complete) build or just a CPU upgrade?

It is a completely new build, I was originally going for the E8400, but starting to fade off it at the moment

Well these days i'm a bit of an intel gamer,But i used to be AMD all the way,So yea i agree with "EvilOne" wait till jan

Yeah, most people who are gaming now are buying the Intel dual/quadcores, none of the people in my team are on AMD bar myself at the moment =[
