Hello, i have a question. This is my GA-M55S-S3 rev.1 motherboard http://www.gigabyte.com and i want to buy this cpu AMD PHENOM II X4 965 125W BLACK EDITION. The question is will this cpu gonna work on my amd2 motherboard?

Sorry man - that board doesn't support that CPU (here is the CPU support list).

However, if you can get hold of the 95W version of that Phenom II X4 955 CPU then it will work in that board (running the F13B beta BIOS).

I'm working away a lot so excuse the lateness of this reply.
Why shouldn't this processor work in his board? Someone told me a 1090T wouldn't work in my GA-M56S-S3, and Gigabyte say it's not supported. I believed this until I tried it. Runs fine though the VRMs can get a bit warm under the stress. You must have the latest bios though.

You might get lucky and it'll work forever, or luck might just run out and a VRM mosfet might just go pop on ya at the worst time. Had this issue when a client replaced 4 E6300s with Q6600s on some DS3 965p motherboards in systems i built, overclocked to 3.2Ghz, 3 boards toasted in less than 1/4 year.

Try Asus motherboard cos it good one also cheaper one:

that I bought for my dad and it very excellent motherboard plus support 6-core as well (Im still using the Crosshair IV). I used Gigabyte motherboard years aso from 2000 until 2009 and changed to Asus so best if you upgrade to AM3 motherboard with DDR3 and sell your exist motherboard into Ebay and get some cash and buy new one that easy way.
