Dont know weather to be pleased or not with this one!

I've only just found out that rev E6 are the poor clockers? Im a newbie to overclocking and building pcs. Ive put an Arctic cooler 64 pro onto my cpu. My mobo is the Asrock duel sata2.

I can boot into windows at 2.6ghz :) 2.65 gives me a BSOD when i boot the pc. I have got the vcore to the highest the mobo will let me.

I've got a front fan blowing air into the pc and the back fan blowing air out the back.

Anything else i can do to get it higher? Or is this as far as i can push a rev E6 venice?

Cheers! Quite pleased with my effort.

2.6 is a pretty healthy clock. I had my Venice 3000+ @ 2.66Ghz on air, prime stable, with quite a bit of voltage running through it. I think that was an E6 revision as well.

I think you have more headroom there in terms of voltage, and therefore frequency. But you've got quite far already, I think it's time to make sure it's stable as it is. Perform some stress tests (Prime95 is an example of a program you can use to do this) and ensure it is stable before going any further.

Your vcore is low considering the clock on that cpu.

I think my board is misreports mine, i have an E6 and tbh, i must have read different sources, because they're apparently not bad clockers.

2.6 from 2.0 is a good clock imo, i'm needing a lot of vcore just for 2.5, so i think you're doing well.

Will have a new board and another PSU to use tomorrow, but at the moment your clock is better then mine on a worse board (no offence).

30% overclock aint bad going mate.

A certain site has some good used boards for s939 if you know where to look... £30 or so.. ;) which could give you better overclocking, but thats also down to you to research, cant guarantee overclocks....

Cheers! 1.4v is the highest i can select on this mobo. I have a game running and cpu temp is 36C. I hit 2.5 with 1.37vcore i think lol. Something like that.

I havent really played with prime95 etc. If my sytem plays the game i play fine then thats stable to me lol :)

I did want the DFI Ultra-D, but its a bit too expensive  Dont know what other boards to look for which could help me o/c higher.

Think i might leave it at this if you recon its a good clock. Cheers :)

And no offence taked with regards to the motherboard. I bought it because it was very cheap compared to others and it was getting good reviews. I rushed the motherboard and i hate it
