just got one and a new mobo
im very happy with it
it is far superior to its intel price equivalent [which i had before]

if anybody is looking for a real alternative to intel, i would reccomend this cpu

sorry - my bad
it was an Intel Core 2 Duo E6550
im not saying the difference is huge
just noticable

lol, theres no way the 4800+ is superior in any way to the E6550. I honestly dont know how you can notice a difference?

it overclocks better - it might have something to do with the new mobo as well
i was just saying that im happy with it

Everyone writes off AMD but the X2's are still good processors. My second rig contains a 4200 at 2.8Ghz and it's performance is similar to my e6550 at stock. However, my e6550 clearly wins when overclocked. At 3.3GHz it is almost twice as fast at encoding video and noticeably quicker with games like Supreme Commander (both rigs contain the same GC).

Strangely, general windows use (swapping windows etc) seems slightly quicker with AMD, but the difference is barely noticeable.
