amdfx 8120 running very very slow need help

Can someone help me out.i bought a amd fx 8120 8core with gt440 graphics cardbut it seems very slow.i thought it was 4ghz but wen i look at properties it says it is 2.8..am i ment to unlock it as things dont seem right..

Is that under stress, such as gaming or prime 95?

i dont know what prime 95 means..i bought the pc from a factory all ready made to spec which this is ..i borrowed a game of me friend NFS most wanted.the game runs ok bit lagging but i thought this pc would be fast an quick on the net but it seems slower than a pc i had 10 yrs ago..it shows all 8 cores running.am i ment to boost it some where in the systerm as it says its unlocked..

you need to download prim95 run small fft's.

then download cpu-z

run both at teh same time see what cpu-z says ur cpu speed is
