AMD Officially announced it's response to Conroe today. They supplied the press with cpu-z images of the soon-to-be-released product.

no. Evil Intel lover, *spits*

Fair enough.

Quick, rhetorical question for ya.

The world is about to end, in 20 minutes. Intel have prepared a capsule that will launch and save everyone - do you climb out of your now worn down, old, AMD capsule and aboard Intel's - or do you die a death, similar to the one that AMD are going to experience, after the Conroe officially releases?

 Think about it.

no need to think about it. Id go with AMD because its the moral choice, hell i wouldnt buy microsoft either if i new how to use another O.S. ive got this hang up about large companys screwing over smaller ones you see, its not very friendly.

p.s. given the average home user doesnt know the difference between a conroe an AMD and a goldfish, and given thats where most of AMD and Intels profits are based, what makes you think that Conroe will kill off AMD... dont be foolish.

Some of what I said, was tongue in cheek. ;)

I'm on the opposite side of the fence, as yourself - I can never understand the whole rebellion against popular companies, but at the same time - people do go out of their way, to be original. A concept which blows my mind. :D

I don't see why the big companies should be friendly to the smaller ones. The dominating companies in any industry, were once small companies and I'm sure they were the ones picked on then.

All companies are out for themselves and to widen their wallet.

In an ideal world, we would have more than just Intel and AMD leading the processor race, we would have more competitive operating systems than Microsoft's and Apple's and the products would benefit greatly from that - but it's not an ideal world and that's how it is.

Companies who make the rare break into the top league of any product, do so through hard work, offering something in their products that others don't and by doing something different - that's about as good as it will get I'm afraid.

I don't get people who think people should only choose one brand. Just pick the best product and while that may be the Conroe at the moment, it wasn't before and not everyone updates their system constantly.

Exactly, i've been an AMD fan since the XP days and i've just sold off my X2 to get a E6600 because its a better chip. (that and the DFI Sli-DR or nForce 4 chipset is a PoS).

CR. :)

Pfff, hippy.

Can't stand these left-winger anti-capitalists that don't know what they're talking about. You think all these small companies wouldn't love to be in the same position as Microsoft, and wouldn't behave in exactly the same way? It's called business. ;)
