After watching 'The Da Vinci Code', and seeing how good Audrey Tautou looked in it, it made me watch 'Amelie' once again. It reminded me that it is an absolutely superb film - with an excellent soundtrack to boot, thoroughly recommended. :)

Yes, Yann Tiersen's music was really well adapted and expanded upon for the film, and definitely contributes a great deal of what makes the film as good as it is. My only gripe is that each of the pieces are so tantalizingly short in isolation, that it can be quite unfulfilling to listen to. I recommend picking up his La Valse des Monstres album for more of the same (parts of it were used in Amelie) :).

One of my favourite films. I don't watch it a lot as I don't want to make it too familiar. You know the way you can with some films too much so you know all the lines, everything that happens and eventually theres no point in watching the film. So I don't watch Amelie much simply so that when I do it still retains the magic.

It's amazing how engrossing it can get - you can forget you're reading subtitles and listening to french.

This is a film I kick myself for not watching yet, I have learnt most of the soundtrack on piano, and keep being told its an amazing film, i even bought it like 3 months ago but havnt watched it!!! Its hard cos I like to watch films in bed but even with my glasses on I wont be able to read the subtitles so I will have to set aside a few hours to watch it soon!
Both my teachers from college toured with Yann Tiersen in France once (one of thems from stereolab, not that many people have heard of them lol) and Iv heard one other of his albums and all I can say is "How French!" :p
