Tried to find a master thread for the above, but without success so here comes a new one.

Really enjoying this (along with ETS2) however trying to get hold of map mods is a bit of a nightmare as these are invariably hosted away from Steam. I got hold of the Mexico maps but only after someone emailed me them, as the site hosting on attempting to download the second file opened up a malware/ransomware window.

I want to get hold of Coast to Coast and or the Canada map, but I'm not putting my PC or personal details at risk.

can anyone recommend a reliable, non malware infected site to get these?

I'm not to sure if it has anything on there related to maps but have you tried Steam workshop? I use the mods on there for all my ETS2 profiles.... I will see if my old man knows any sites for map extensions etc as he plays ATS more than he plays ETS... Ill get back to you if he knows any :)

For some reason Steam Workshop decline to host map mods. I managed to get the Coast to Coast mod off Sharemods but when I went back in to get the Canada map, up popped the malware.

I may try Google Chrome see if that is more effective at keeping out the nasties. Not a member of the SCS forum but have seen several threads over there appertaining to the same thing and wondering why the map/mod authors don't find a more reliable host.

What are all these mods for?

I bought this game a couple of days ago and I've been sitting at my PC glued to it, like a real truck driver. It's the best game I've played this year. So do the map mods remove the barriers and allow you to go roaming all over the 48 states?

I have a fair few mods for ATS but mine aren't map mods. Some of them are pretty useful for example longer yellow lights, but they are mostly visual/sound improvements and fixes. Traffic density is a must have too imo. With the below, it looks amazing!
I do have pro mods for euro truck which is a map mod but I don't know the current state of the ATS pro mod stuff. Do know they are working on Canada and somewhere else though.

Realistic graphics mod
Realistic lights
Realistic headlights
Realistic Roads
Realistic Rain
Longer yellow lights - useful
freightliner flb
coyotes air brake sound
real enginer and sounds
real traffic density and ratio
real american gas stations
real advertisments
ats real logos
sound fixes pack
SiSls trailer pack
Real Company logos

So are all these available on the Steam workshop? At first glance, I’d definitely be interested in something that increases traffic. The roads really are too empty for the USA. The railroad crossings should have clanging bells but they have no noise at all.

otherwise I’m finding the game great fun! I haven’t been able to stop playing. Just one more trip... and preempting the day I get bored of it, I bought all the maps for Euro Truck as well.

Yea, aside from Pro Mods, they are all on the Steam Workshop.

Check out wombats YouTube channel for a list of maps working with 1.36 and how to install and order them. Also I’d recommend jazzycats car and truck packs for more realistic car/truck/motorbike variety combined with Cips real traffic density.

Graphics and sound wise get Project Next Gen 1.8 to improve the graphics and drive safely sound fix pack to improve the audio.

I have more installed but that’s all I can think of atm as I’m not at my PC.

Oh btw if you find the mods on the scs forums from the original makers you won’t need to worry about the sharemods link they provide.

How is it?

Quite enjoy the community events they have for the next month after state releases - gives an extra sense of purpose.

I've only done a couple of jobs so far, nothing spectacular I've discovered yet. But these are always day 1 purchases for me as you say, I like doing the World of Trucks cruising event.

Just started playing this last week, taking a break from Sim Racing while I wait for Starfield and Cities Skylines 2. Gotta say I'm hooked on it, it's so chill driving around, works really well now on triple screen setup also.

I've got a few mods but nothing major. What sites would you recommend I go to for mods? If any of you ATS veterens could recommend the must have mods and sites, I'd be most grateful.

Been streaming on Youtube too if anyone interested. I wont post links to my channel and stuff (that's enough of a shameless plug) but if you're interested enough and wanna pop in and help me out, Youtube is same name as my OCUK account.
