Max K. Lambert has released a trailer for
Americana Dawn, an upcoming Japanese-style RPG set in 18th-century America during the French and Indian War and the American Revolution.
Inspired by Konami's Suikoden series, Americana Dawn offers turn-based battles and overhead-view exploration sequences, with a focus on historical accuracy. Players will also engage in large-scale encounters that require strategy, along with one-on-one duels inspired by Monkey Island's famed insult swordfighting system.
While the game will be released as freeware, Lambert has set up a
Kickstarter campaign to compensate the artists, composers, and programmers who contributed to the project. The campaign has earned $1,600 toward its goal of $2,500 as of this writing, with ten days left to go. Pledge prizes include retro-styled manuals, art books, and the opportunity to appear in the game as an NPC.
