Mercedes-Benz's AMG unit and motorcycle maker Ducati have signed an agreement to work closely together in the future.
The first step will be joint marketing and sponsoring activities. AMG will be a sponsor for the Ducati MotoGP team as well as the team's official car partner, meaning the MotoGP team will only use AMG vehicles.
"I am especially proud to have AMG as one of our sponsors for the Moto GP team," said Gabriele Del Torchio, president and CEO of Ducati Motor Holding. "I am also very pleased that our joint marketing activities are under way."
Ducati will provide motorcycles for test drives at select AMG events. The opportunity to test-drive AMG vehicles will also be provided to Ducati customers.
"I am very pleased that we are able to announce our strategic cooperation with Ducati today," said Ola Kallenius, CEO of Mercedes-AMG GmbH. "This long-term cooperation will help us to jointly access new customer groups."
The two companies are also examining how to further the cooperation in the near future.
