Im not sure whether it was because i was young at the time or what but why was there a lot of games on the amiga that were very scary?

Playing things on the lines FEAR doesnt come close to much older games like horror zombies from the crypt.

Ive just found this and i think id still brick it if i played it now

Ghostbusters 2

That hand used to scare the **** out of me!

I had a 4 game collection and it came with X-out, indiana jones and something else.

Shadow of the beast was another one aswell. Very creepy music and generally better than the turd thats made now a days

Hmmm, don't think I ever got proper scared. Le Chuck incited a bit of fear, but obviously in a funny way. Nothing else really had much of a real atmosphere, and being young changes your view on games. Shadow of the Beast was a buggy, graphics over gameplay masterpiece. It would fit right in nowadays. :)

cannon fodder was the only game on the amiga i ever got properly hooked to

BC Kid was cool, there was also a game im trying to remember the name to where you were a little blonde kid in his pajamas that i got quite hooked too, cant remember ever having any scary games though

Never played any scary games I don't think. I loved the Amiga though.

Anyone ever play Hunter? I don't remember especially liking the game that much, but I was pretty amazed by it.

Lets see, what impresses me nowadays..

I wonder if I will be chuckling at this in years to come :)

Hunter was great :)

for me it was Silent hill on the PS..... great game to play in the dark with headphones. :D

the sound effects in that game (from the radio static to the metallic clanks) brill. It's what you can't see that scares you most!

Anyone know of a good Amiga emulator for non tech savvy member that will run on Vista?

My favourite game was Alien Breed followed by a WWI flight sim that I can't remember the name of.

The scope and open ended gameplay was definitely something quite rare then. A few 3D games were emerging, that were smart and made for really involving games. ArmorGeddon and Carrier Command were similar to Hunter in some regards for me at the time.

Loads of games I love on that patform. One that stands out for me is It Came From The Desert. Not sure if it was scary but it had a lot of atmosphere and a great story.

Wow I spent many happy hoors playing that. god youve awakened memories from so long ago.

Ok off topic i keep thinking of the atari 800. ali baba and the forty thieves. Its a vague memory , was only available on the 800 and on 5.25 floppy disc only, It was so elite and no-one will have heard of it but it changed my life forever. I wouldnt be here if i hadnt of played it, in my humble opinion it was the grand daddy of all todays rpg games. period, at a guess it was out 25 years ago. yes im old!

deks

The WW1 sim might've been Knights From The Sky.

That game was prob Sleepwalker. You were a dog and the blond kid just kept on walking around and you had to stop him from dying.

Wow amazing post considering i'm just back from a night out. Crazy writin.

It was almost certainly Sleepwalker, released for Comic Relief one year (early 90s at a guess). I even bought the game and then it wouldn't play on my ST at the time so I lent it to a mate and it disappeared somehow - I reckon one of his brothers sold it. :D

I've mentioned it before and I'll doubtless mention it again, I still want them to remake Supercars II, even as a mobile phone game would do me. :)

SuperCarsII was a good game. Another was Nitro. Local multiplayer games were good on that.

I loved(and still do) Rescue on Fractalus! on the old Atari.
Man them green meanies jumping on your window YIKS

I dont understand why they cant do a game like that now?
