This is posted in the Laptop forum aswell but thought i may get more advice here ;)

i have the above laptop that has a fried DC jack on the bottom of the laptop it states the DC should be 20v / 4.5a.

the previous owner has tried 2 chargers over the time they had it and smoke came out after approx 6 months of use each time, this tends to make me believe that there is too much current going into the laptop. (could be wrong )

I have had a look online for adapters for it and there seems to be conflicting info on what power the adapter should be

20v / 4.5a (states on bottom of case)
20v / 3.25a

Now!

I am getting a Pi2530 motherboard to replace the dead motherboard but have the same issue with the Adapter rating for this,

20v / 3.25
or
19v / 4.74a

which do i get!!!!!!!!!!!

any advice is appreciated.
