Amnesia: The Dark Descent

Only hint I can give as to the where abouts of the third rod is that it is the only breath of fresh air that you'll get.
 
Just watched a video clip taken from this game in the scariest monster thread, and I found it disturbing to say the least.

I have only played part of the demo, at some point I may have to pick this game up, not sure I really want to, this is a different kind of fear that I haven't really experienced before in a game.

With Metacritic score of 85 it's got to be worth it.

LOL. I found a vid of these kids playing this game over Skype in the USA. This guy playing is just hilarious he is so scared.

Is the actual game scarier than the demo? Because I tried the demo and it wasn't the slightest bit scary. Also the voice actor they chose for this seems completely out of place to me.
 
Wanted to check this with owners here before signing up to Frictional Games' forum to ask.

Right from the beginning of the game whenever I stand in a darkened room I get a peculiar crackling/crunching audio effect. If it's supposed to be a genuine sound sample associated with deteriorating sanity then I'm a little surprised; it sounds sufficiently low-quality for me to wonder if it's a glitch?
 
Considering the fact that Doom 3 made me and my mate scream like girls when we first played it, I'll give this a miss :p

Ha, that video is so funny.
I'm tempted to buy this at £4.42, but I'm a scaredy cat (though I did get through the first FEAR).

I just bought it for the main reason it's not a mainstream publisher and these guys deserve every penny they can get :)

*that, and it looks class, cant wait to get started on it*

That is by far the most hilarious thing I've seen this year.

Highlights for me were 1:58 and and 4:28.

The 4:28 one is fantastic, he literally screams, pauses the game and starts whimpering quietly.

I should finish this game some time :(

I just remember seeing that *thing* chasing me, then I dived into a tunnel with a second to spare, closed the game and never played it again.
