Jotunheim treble is too lively for the HD800 or K701, the Lyr 3 with a decent tube (the stock Tung Sol is decent) will round the edges off slightly.

Audio GD are decent but their purchasing is weird, you have to email them back and forth to sort out what you want to buy and then if anything goes wrong it has to go back to China at your expense

Good call, I keep forgetting about Magnahifi - That R2R 11 multibit DAC/Amp does look good

That would just be a DAC, you would still need an amp. The Audio GD R2R 11 mentioned above is only 380 euro brand new and that covers both DAC and amp

i forgot to mention i have a magni u2, could worry about upgrading that at a later date. apart from music i also like to play online games like pubg and fortnite, bit worried about purchasing a multibit cause i heard they add a lot of sound delay like 20 ms

do you think Audio GD R2R 11 could beat a bifrost multibit + magni uber2

If you need virtual surround for gaming then you need to be looking at a sound card as you won't get that from any external DAC, just pure stereo.
