Amp insisting on 7.1?

On certain content on my PC and via apps such as Disney+, it's pushing 7.1 to my amp even though I've got it wet to 4.1 in the settings, anyway to make it do 5.1?

Your amp will downmix to whatever channels you have.

That's what I thought, but it was showing 7.1 on the amp, even though it was configured to 4.1, I felt that some of the sounds were missing too.
