Happy festive period all!

At present I run a Rotel RA971 MkII amp into some Quad 12L2 speakers and a BK sub. These are used for everything; music, TV, movies and games. I'm generally happy with the set up, but getting up off the sofa every time to change volume is a pain!

Could anyone help with a good value amp, whether new or used, that comes with a remote and is as muscular as the Rotel?

I haven't looked at audio equipment for an age so don't know whether things have moved on at all. What I do know after a tiny bit of research is that networking and an inbuilt DAC are not necessary or wanted. Ideas would be gratefully received.

Cheers :)

Thanks for the reply. I popped into Sevenoaks in Bristol yesterday to have a play with some smaller speakers for a kitchen system and got talking to a guy about Rotel and some other products. I had planned to add a separate DAC to the system, but there are some intriguing all in one solutions out there at the moment that are a lot more compact.

The NAD D3020 and Denon PMA-50 look pretty interesting and would allow me to connect up everything including my sub. They also look decent value when compared to a separate DAC and amp.

I'll do some more research...

To update this thread, after selling my Rotel I ordered a Denon PMA-50 earlier in the week which arrived today. I set it up with the only speakers I have at present, some KEF Q15s.

I didn't get much of chance to listen to things this evening other than a few songs over Bluetooth. First impressions are that it reveals a lot of detail in the treble without being harsh, but that it lacks some weight and authority in bass. I'll try some other connections later in the week.
