Hello all this is my second thread, initially I inquired about a fix for my Cambridge audio DTT3500, this was concerning the Digital input to the amplifier not working correctly and wiring it into the analog part of the amplifier. Well that worked but now I have another issue:
I switch my PC on along with my Amplifier, however the moment the amp is switched on i will get a random popping on random channels (only Front and Rear), it is like this on all input modes on the amp, and will continue to do this for about half an hour up to two hours. It sounds like a DC popping coming though the channels previously stated, however i am not sure what could be causing this.
What i have found:
- switching on and off the amplifier (both at the mains and on the amp itself) does not help the matter
- The popping disappears after the amplifier has warmed up
- When changing the volume it changes the volume of the popping, now this means it is an issue with the input to the amp.
- It does not occur in the center and Woofer channels I enabled in the Digital > Analog modification i originally carried out,
- It is not the leads from the PC to the amp as i have checked these and swapped them with a spare, and the same problem occurs
I know it is pointing towards a hardware fault, however i would like a second opinion as i am not happy about popping coming though my B&W 601-S3's
P.S: is this the right area to post this??
