The whole point of his articles is to be negative towards games even if he likes them.

Not quite true, watch the phsychonauts review. He generally tends to review games that are critically acclaimed or are part of a franchise that was once critically acclaimed, and pick them to pieces.

Occasionally (as mentioned above with phsychonauts), he reviews a game that people will typically miss out on, but deserves credit. Basically i think he just hates the hype machine and wants to tear it a new one as much as possible.
