not sure wether to put this in general hardware or here but here goes;
hi on the glorious day of saturday at the approximate time of 12 noon i shall begin stripping down my current pc to place it in a new case with a new psu/dvd-rw the case in question is a jeantech aqua if any of you are framiliar with it it would be a great help.
i am doing this because im in a mid atx case at the minute with only one fan at the back next to the psu and i am running a p4 3.4ghz ht prescott @45 degrees idle/60 degrees load with a stock fan.
the case in question has 1 120mm fan at the front bottom infront of the removeable hdd cage,space for an additional 4 80mm fans,one at the back next to the psu,one on the right hand side to blow into an additional space for a hdd outside of the main hdd cage,and two in the left side panel one i presume directly over the cpu and one over the graphics card(i say presume because i wont know until i get the motherboard in there.
now onto the info seeking part i have bought one amber series akasa 80mm fan along with the case and so my dilemma, what would be the best fan setup,remove the hdd cage and place the hdd in the additional slot with the 80mm fan blowing onto it and let the 120mm fan blow through the case or would it be better for me to put the hdd in the cage,use the 120mm fan to cool it while using the 80mm fan to extract the heat at the rear of the case,
this will only be a problem for a month or so until i buy more 80mm fans but id like to get all your input before the big day
also i should add the psu's fan is inside the case at the bottom so id assume that it could act as an extractor i just dont know as i have not switched it on as of yet
thanks for any advice that could be given on this matter
