Can someone recommend a good alternative to the standard email app that comes with OS X ?

My new iMac 5K should arrive soon and I'll be making the move from PC. I've been using OS X on the MacBook Pro for a few months but don't like the email client.

I quite like Live Mail in Windows or Outlook (probably because I'm used to them) so something like that would be good :)

Has to be Sparrow.

It got bought by Google a year or two ago now and hasn't been updated since but it is still by far the best email client out there and believe me I've tried pretty much all of them.

Here is a D/L link - http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/35410/sparrow - as it's no longer available due to Google :/

I find some of the newer email apps to be far to bloated with really gimmicky features to try and stand out when it's just not needed, email isn't that complicated.

At work I use outlook but at home I just use webmail, it's a carry over from my windows days... I really don't see the point of having a client on the machine to download what is mostly spam and viruses, while the web interface is pretty functional for my needs.

PostBox is pretty good: http://www.postbox-inc.com/

Made by one of/some of the original Thunderbird guys and is what Thunderbird should be.

That's what I'm going with on the desktops. Config is mostly common across OS X and Windows and it's operationally identical on both too...

I use Inbox by Google on my mobile devices for my main account, and for quick use out and about, but Postbox does other multiple accounts and heavy gruntwork on others.

Well worth the cost for me.

Mailbox looks nice, aside from the fact it doesnt support non Gmail/Mac email addresses :) I was also expecting more integration between dropbox and itself.
