An amd 5700xt vs nvidia RTX 2070 super? which is better price performance

Right now 2070S is faster in nearly all games, except some console ports such as Red Dead Redemption 2.

However if I was a betting man I would bet 5700 XT to be on parr with 2070 Super or even ahead in most games in say a years time.

Let me explain.
When 1060 and 1080 was released, the 1060 beat the RX 580 in every game and the Vega 64 was beat comfortably by the 1080.

Now a year or two on, the RX 580 crushes the 1060, to the point that even the RX 570 beats a 1060 in most games and now a VEGA 64 is typically matching and beating 1080 in many games to the point it even matches a 1080Ti in some.

AMD simply have better drivers these days and they never abandon support for their old GPU's and keep improving performance over time.

AMD should be seriously considered now because the 5700 XT is becoming a heavy weight card and can truly perform exceptionally well. :)

Plus why not go for full Gen4 with that AMD setup, X570, Gen4 SSD, Gen4 graphics card and Ryzen 3700X would be an awesome gaming rig that will destroy 1440P gaming and even do OK at 4k. :)

It's within single-digit percentages for most titles and within a year or so the gap may close even more with AMDs track record with driver improvements.

The 2070S simply isn't worth the significant extra imo.

I agree with this. +1

As above. Give it time and the 5700xt will overtake the 2070s. Its the common pattern with geforce cards. People suspect nvidia let cards drop off on purpose so that newly released ones look better :\
