An awesomely exciting relationship thread

As the scale of The Stupid Thing A Man Has Done goes up then the tribute also increases in scale.

Not sure flowers is gonna cut it here. Maybe a Porsche.

e : And actually, thinking about this, you're one of the few women who post here and this is really terrible advice! He could talk to her, work things through or do something else which has actual meaning but flowers is the answer? Come on, life isn't a rom com where the nice bunch of flowers fixes that stupid mistake you made.

Ouch a porsche over a couple of hundred quid. Thats a bit much.

Actually I would have declined it. I dont like borrowing money, I dont like taking hand outs. Its just the way I am.

If something happens thats "unfair" I deal with it. I dont expect hand outs from others.

Yes I will most likley rant and claim that the passport theft etc is "unfair" as most would (including the OP), but I would not expect others to bail me out.

Fair enough. :)
I hate hand outs and borrow money as little as possible and its only when i 'need' to i would.
If his mother has the means to and was happy doing it i cant see the problem really, and its not like his mother bailed him out, im sure she was happy knowing her son was having the trip of a life time.
If i had a lad doing the same and had the means to pay id be more than happy doing it. So long as this doesnt stem from a long line of been financially bailed out i cant see the issue.

Appreciate her. Make it up to her.

PROPERLY. Not a day playing with Lego.

Hahahh she isn't 12, I'm pretty sure asking her to play lego with me would cause the end of our relationship

I will appreciate her and she is letting me try to, which is all I wanted after last night.

I didn't expect it though?
It was offered the whole way through, I just didn't organise it quickly enough and didn't appreciate enough what my girlfriend has done for me at the time.

Well I must have misunderstood then, as the impression I got was that you where moaning that your mum didn't get you the money on time? (also the original post has been edited so I cant check now ...) either way my point stands, sort your own finances out and others will not have to bail you out.

Count yourself lucky you have a GF and mother that seem willing to pay for your luxuries which you clearly cant afford yourself.

Say what? It's lovely to receive flowers! Yeah it won't fix stuff straight away, but it's a way of showing how he appreciates her help and wants to sort it with her!!!!

Can you post that pic of your ex who had the enormous breasts, each one larger than her head? For, uh, science.

Now that you're ignoring everyone's advice it seems fair :)

fake edit : also, post pics of the new (soon to be ex) GF also for, uh, science.

You're 24, why are you so poor? Why did you quit your job before you had enough money to pay for a trip round Europe?

Because I moved to the UK to travel as much as I can for the duration of my 2 year visa so basically my new years resolutions are to have an empty bank account (or near enough, obviously not completely empty..) but also a load of stories and memories from having the time of my life while I have the opportunity. Once I get back to the land of Oz I will be furthering study, finishing off my pilots licence and getting a real job... unless me and the missus decide to move to Canada for a year or so and do it all over again ;):D

Oh also, I did have the money for the trip but got robbed of my passport/visa before my trip and had to shell out money to repalce it.

I don't mean to personalise this so I will ask if you think that women would prefer a thing which a guy bought from a petrol station over and above making a substantial difference to the way they deal, talk and interact with you (generic 'you')

Is it a nice touch? Of course! Is it a really, really easy thing to do to get out of jail? Of course!

I'm by no means he should just buy flowers and then expect things to go back to normal, of course he needs to interact with her...

I just think flowers are a nice gesture! Jus' sayin'

5 stars, right there. Good work man, good work.

Jesus christ FNGsam, I hope Munich was worth it! I remember seeing that pic like three years ago :p.

A new passport and Visa must be what, £150?
