An Elder Scrolls: Oblivion thead

I still find the original enjoyable, albeit with a few QOL mods.

Unless they've butchered something or had to remove a bunch of features, I expect I'll get a lot of enjoyment out of it. Won't be an immediate purchase, though.

The big question for me is to what extent the new version will be moddable - and if so how many mods authors will want to get involved.

Is the release date (i.e today) just speculation?

Or is this announcement just going to be a trailer drop with a release date 6 months away?

Or no one knows apart from Bethesda?

This reminds me of the rumoured HL3 announcement at the Game Awards........zero happy ending there.

Just ask @ICEx21 here, and then it'll be the exact opposite.

It's a cert, just like yesterday at 1700 was a cert and people were sat clicking refresh on gamepass and then sobbing moments later.

I couldn't imagine them basically shadow dropping a remaster of one of the games in their big mainline series. There'll probably just be an announcement trailer with a date and the usual hype building phase for a release later on, no doubt there will be physical collectors editions and what not.

It's interesting if it is UE5 though, I wonder how it will compare running on that vs the engine that they've basically been using and reinventing since Morrowind.

Zero expectations so can't be disappointed, and I'm off all this week so bonus if it does grab me. Also god bless gig internet though it's currently downloading at a peasant speed of 830 Mbps.

Looks fantastic, and if it runs well this will be another few thousand hours sunk into this all over again. Morrowind next I beg of ye.
