An embarrassing ask...

T shirt underneath works well for me, as does driclor.

One problem I found with driclor is that it stops me sweating from my arms but I sweat more from my back.

Driclor but its stings like an absolute ***** if you have any weaknesses in your skin. Works really well I have found but even if you get a little carried away drying your armpits before hand it will hurt.

This. Works a treat but can hurt like childbirth

lol

But since it is not locked Anti-perspirant and some bacteria killing soap may help. That orange soap, no idea about the name.

Driclor is good Im a bit like this, I can run a marathon and not sweat as much as I do when im wearing a light blue shirt, its weird I think I sweat more at work then when im running, but that magic antiperspirant works well, you have to trim them pits if you're a bit hairy lol

I wear anti-perspirant...but yeah, I sweat a lot more at work than I do if I power walk from say, Crewe to Nantwich...

I'll trim the ol' pits when I shower in the morn' see if it helps...

Don't shave them right off...... you'll get sore armpits from constant skin on skin contact if not used to it.

Try switching deo. Sometimes you body decides it doesn't like something, and you have to switch.

Also, if you are sweating lots, WASH WELL, otherwise you are gonna hum real quick. If you do stink for whatever reason, use some anti-dandruff shampoo on your armpits, and leave to soak for a bit.

I recommend Driclor too. I used to get terrible sweaty pits on tube journeys every day, and now I just use Driclor once a week and haven't even noticed a sweaty armpit in... well... forever :)

I recommend getting the big roll-on though (rainforest), it lasts a really long time. The piddly little things that boots sell are a rip-off.

Edit: I still do a quick spray of a regular AP, just for backup and the deodorant factor.

Related question, ok not really well kind of.

Is it acceptable to wear a tshirt that isn't white under a shirt? I have done before but it never looks as good as with a white tshirt underneath. I don't have many plain white tshirts and looks a bit naff with the logo showing. Ta.

THIS! Why is this??

Hard session at the gym and the armpits are bone dry, yet pop on a smart shirt and they are flooding.

I seem to sweat from different places when I'm stressed, even with a tshirt underneath it can still cause patches on my shirt.

Don't buy really obvious shirts that colour when wet? like blue, try some striped or light colour shirts.

Several guys at work seem to suffer and all wear shocking colours that seem to just highlight the issue, a white shirt won't.

Looking into buying some of this Driclor stuff but I'm finding both 20ml bottles and 75ml bottles, both roll on. I'm trying to find out if there's any difference because they're both the same price, though the design on the 75ml does look older.

Anybody got any ideas?

I too suffered from this and found it was as much a confidence issue as anything else. I found I was getting a bit sweaty, feeling conscious of it and that was making it worse.

It's a problem called Hyperhidrosis, which effectively means excessive sweating, and it can affect anyone and essentially any body part (although armpits is the most common, called axillary hyperhidrosis).

I went to see the doctor and got a prescription antiperspirant that I can't remember the name of. I had to apply it each night before I went to sleep, one night on, one night off. You need to wash thoroughly under your pits every morning to wash off the residue. After doing this for about a week I had an enormous improvement in the situation, and after two weeks I didn't sweat at all.

I kept up using it until that bottle was gone (I think it lasted about 3 months) and afterwards I was fine for about a year. When I began to notice a little under-arm sweating again I went back to the docs and got another bottle, problem solved.

Nowadays I rarely get a problem, but a visit to the doctors should be your first port of call, and they will likely do the same for you. Only if that doesn't work will more drastic action be considered.
