An embarrassing ask...

OK, OCUK, please help me...

For some reason I sweat a fair bit under-arm and my light-blue work shirt picks up and it looks quite off putting. It doesn't smell though...is there anything you can suggest other than putting on a t-shirt underneath to 'soak it up'?

:(:(:(
CBA reading the entire thread, so someone might have already mentioned this.

Try changing your deodorant. On the occasions I’ve had wet, but not smelly, armpits, it’s because the deodorant was irritating my skin. Also, trim your armpit hair to allow for better application of anti-perspirant.

Botox will fix that.

Use Driclor!!! It is about £7 from Boots and comes in a roll on format. I would advise using this at night before you go to bed as it can stain clothing, and only use it once a day for a few days and then once a week.

It can sting, but only if you use loads and put it on everyday. The worst I get now is itching instead of stinging.

Driclor, or a borderline identical product called Anhydrol Forte. I was very sceptical. I tried it. I am no longer sceptical. I use Anhydrol Forte once or twice a week now (and have done for over a year) and my armpits just don't get sweaty. It's brilliant, really.

Had to use Anahydrol a few years back too. Started getting really sweaty under the pits at an embarrassing rate, my work shirts were drenched and you couldn't miss it looking at me. That stuff got rid and don't seem to have the problem anymore even without it.

3rd day of trying Driclor....instant improvement.

I fully expected to need to be using it for weeks before I saw improvement, if any. Put it on the first night, next day not a single bit of heavy perspiration.

3rd day now.....shirt stayed completely dry the whole day, including non work stuff at home which usually gets at least a little damp also.

Rather impressed.

It might be best to speak to a doctor. They'll no doubt be able to make some suggestions.

For example I believe that in some cases underarm botox injections can be used to stop sweating.

That just means the sweat comes out in another area from what I've been told..... Driclor is the only way to go really but personally I have to use it sparingly otherwise the pours of my armpit get blocked and quite sore..... great fun to get all the green gunk out of though.... lol

My problem isn't too bad compared to some people here, so instead of burning out my armpits with Driclor, I bought the Triple Dry roll on instead. Bought it alongside some new fragrance so that should be coming sometime this week.

Good to hear! I also went out and bought some Driclor from Boots at the weekend. Will start on it tonight :)

Bought myself some Driclor this morning and applied it about an hour ago, no burning sensation yet, my right pit is a little tingly. Maybe my arm pit hair got in the way?

I never understood why anyone would want to purposely block their pores with chemicals. Not only can they cause awful stuff, but even blocking the pores is terrible for your Lymphatic system.

I'ld rather sweat.

Ohh heres the thread, couldn't find it!

Yeah +1 to Sin_Chase, holy cow this stuff works. Used it every night since friday, it's been scorching hot (read ~20 degrees :D) here for the past couple of days and wow, even walking to the gym, working out and walking back, not an underarm stain in sight! On friday in the same conditions half my tshirt was a different colour by the time i got home :o

Gonna start using it once a week only from now see if that keeps it going.

I shaved my pits the other day, and now it's stubbly and not itchy. I have also changed antiperspirant to Gillette gel roll-on thingy, not as much sweat from the left pit but still a fair bit from the right...still going to stick with wearing a T-Shirt under my work shirt...

Day 2 on Driclor

I was totally dry today at work and it was very warm this afternoon. Success!!

The inside-top of my left arm is very sore though, i went over the top with it last night and missed my armpit.... make sure you only get it on your armpit! Otherwise it's stings like hell.

Sure is one of very few brands that don't irritate my pits, and that includes all the so-called sensitive ones. Keep trying different brands.

Hmm...I've now has 2 patch free days thanks to Gillette (the best a man can get)...It's been 20+C outside and I've been warm, wearing my hoody (use the extra pockets) and not broke pit sweat...nice

Perspirex is one I've used before, which I presume is basically the same thing as driclor.

Stung so bad the first time I ever used it I wanted to rip my pits off, but it does get easier and eventually it barely stings at all but gives fantastic results.

Also agree with trimming the pit foliage, it will certainly allow better contact on the skin. However beware of applying such a strong product onto a freshly shaved pit as you may regret it...if you live. :D

The reason Driclor stings like **** is that any wet residue after you apply can break down to produce hydrochloric acid!!

I use to use it when I was beer drinking fatty, don't sweat now!
