An honest review of the PS3?

The 360 is more than a console as well. ;)

A good percentage of the potential buyers of the PS3 will be parents.
You tell me, what looks more enticing, £425 for a console then £50 for a game, or £300 for a console, and a few games?

Inarguably from a parents perspective if money is a factor £300 is the better option - but we aren't talkin about a situation here where the market is going to be flooded by 1 console for every potential buyer, there are going to be limited amounts for a while yet and I suspect that there will be enough of the die hard and wealthy around to keep them flying off the shelves.

EDIT: I would've said that you were 360/Wii biased, especially since the Wii has no market president here yet.
lol. You mean you dont think im Sony bias, so your saying that im one of the other 2/3. :p lol.
I dont consider myself bias towards any brand anymore. Used to be BigN though. :p

Again, I apologise if I caused offence with the geek remark, it's not ment that way.
NP. :)

Give it a yr. Sony will easily catch up on the 7mil lead Microsoft have?

Why?

Japan !!!

It's fully open to them over there, since no japs own a 360 they have the choice of either a PS3 or a Wii.. most will probably end up going for both!

Up until now, The US has only sold 2.4mil X360's and really that is a little disapointing. Why cos lots of people have been holding off and waiting for either a wii or a ps3. But being that both are completely out a true winner will not emerge until next christmas, when all three are readily availible. Until then lets not speculate other than maybe all agreeing that the X360 should have more sales then what they currently have. 7mil worldwide is not all that to be singing praises about.

By the way I'm not a fanboy. I held out from a 360 until i could see what the ps3 could do. But now it's here and I can see that it's not all that much worse than a 360, I'll be getting my hands on a 360 too, cos lets face it, each will have their must have titles. and for those who are saying that the ps3 doesn't have a killer app.. Try playing Resistance of Man.. Personally I think it wipes the smile off all other console FPS's

I reckon Sony will loose some of it's dominance to Nintendo this round, but MS will probably stay where it did with the old Xbox.. Popular in the US and Europe but almost unheard of in Asia.

No.
Why do people think that Sony have some mega-monopoly in Japan? They dont. Nintendo are king there. How can i comment? Because in 90% of the shops in Akihabara i went in had significantely more floor space dedicated to Nintendo. Followed by Sony, followed by usually a few rows of 360 stuff. :p

Maybe not, but its still a heck of a mountain for Sony to climb.

Well thats your opinion. But forgive me if i stay in reality and see it for what it really is.
RoM is no better than PDZ, and that was called a Killer app on launch as well!

More importently though:

PS2 did 30 million in first 2 years (well, 30 million by May 2002. Launched march 2000 in Japan, Oct/Nov 2000 in US/Europe respectively), in fact not even 2 years.

MS is way off target of that, but then i dont see PS3 getting near it either.

I believe PS3/360 will end up having similar share, PS3 slightly better, but MS will get the drop on Sony in the generation after this one...

Ninty in 3rd, but in a healthy position still.

aaah, come on - not that old tripe

Sony sold EVERY PS3 they shipped throughtout the world thus far. If they could've made 2x as many, they'd have sold them all 2x over still...

Its not lack of interest, its lack of consoles...
