The monitor I'm looking at the Alienware OptX AW2310 23" at £319.20.
Pushes me over budget but it has some pretty good reviews.

Also I'll have to wait for the Keyboard to come in stock.

Thanks very much to everyone who's helped out today.

Still haven't gone firm on everything yet so if you can see some things that are going to cause 'bottlenecks' or anything that I'm doing wrong please let me know.

Best of luck with your build OP.
I would give my opinion on the build but I tired and am off to bed :p.

My only comments are that provided you get the correct components (which you will because we will help you), then a PC is dead easy to build. The knowledge comes in making sure you have the best kit and what works well together etc.

Thanks.

The retail CPU is a couple of quid more and has a 3 year warranty and stock cooler. You have the OEM CPU which has one year and no stock cooler. As Tammzy says you'd need a heatsink added to your spec. Use the retail CPU and it's stock cooler, the thermal paste is preapplied.

Because you have tall RAM you will struggle to fit an aftermarket air cooler over the top, you could replace the stock cooler with something like this later when you want to start overclocking.

I suggested the KFA 670 as it is clocked faster than your choice with a better cooler for literally a couple of quid more.

Honestly bud I don't know. Having the LEDs ontop means it wont be low profile so there could be an issue. Myself I'd grab this RAM whilst it's on offer, it's usally a lot more than £40
YOUR BASKET
1 x Corsair Vengeance Low Profile 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (CML8GX3M2A1600C9) £35.99
Total : £35.99 (includes shipping : FREE).

Oh I'm not a fan of Bluray burners. The blank blurays are very dear. I think i'd favour using a bluray ROM and DVD writer combo. You can fit HD movie rips easily onto a dual layer DVD, they are much cheaper and hold 8.5 GB of data, single layer DVDs are cheaper still.

YOUR BASKET
1 x LG CH10LS28 BD-ROM 10x BluRay ROM / DVDRW SATA-II Optical Drive - Black (Retail) £62.99
Total : £62.99 (includes shipping : FREE).

Shame, the led's looked good fitted. but then again, with the green theme I'd have to make sure they were all on :)

I'll book the low profile's.. Thanks a lot for all the help, I'll let you all sleep now.

Well it claws back a few quid, same with switching out the bluray writer. You can use this cash to up the heatsink budget if you want or balance it out elsewhere :D

Had another shot at a spec for you. I've used the Bitfenix shinobi core case and added the extras. The fan controller also allows you to power on & off the fan LEDs as well as set the fan speed. Heatsink fan is LED blue and it has a remote built in for setting the speed of the fan.

Having a modular PSU is a great help to keep the inside of the case tidy. The excess cables often will end up restricting airflow.....it's nice to only use what you need ;) The mobo is slightly better and includes a gaming surface......top tip, flip it over and you have an anti static surface to build the rig on. Once built flip it back over and use it for it's intended purpose.

For a first build I would stay away from watercooling. It's just going to over complicate the build, plus it does require maintenance, which is why the closed loop coolers have a place in the market.

personnaly I would get a better GPU gainward aren't the best you really want a gigabyte windforce or EVGA.

Also get some better RAM Adata are not very good. Crucial or gskill are really good.

A modular psu will be better.

Also check the length of the 8pin atx cable from the psu will reach because the case is a big'un.

You can get extension cables or the case may include one.
