An insight into my obsession

I'm sure there is a fourth part of this series of videos - I watched them a couple of months back. There is also somewhere a video of Hakkinen test driving the F-1 along with the EB110 and F-40, If I had time I'd find it but alas I don't, he makes a complete doo-doo of it and says (while driving the F-1) "you can hear the turbo whistling" lol...

you're right mate, sorry that i wasn't thorough enough.

to anyone still subscribed to this thread, i urge you to watch part 4 for some reflection+perspective....or to learn that you now hate the Sultan of Brunei who has FIVE macs

you've always gotta love a Mclaren - its as close as i'll ever get, but on computer games i'll always pick an F1 over any of these Enzos/lambos.... F1s are like massive karts... massive power, but better handling than anything else...goes exactly where you want it to.
and you have to love the fact its British! :D

Interesting fact from one of the vids posted above:

Enzo - 15mp
F1 - 6mpg

 That's one hell of a difference!

ive edited your post

remember the guy owns a Race Spec Mclaren F1 GTR that was used in GT racing, he just had it made road legal.

The GTR has the race spec engine with 50bhp more, and no doubt lots of other minor alterations in gearing etc.. to make it as fast as possible for racing. The car still has the racing steering rack on it, hence its stupidly poor turning circle !

The Road going original F1, is quoted at 16mpg. Dont think they've ever entered an enzo in GT racing, but i wonder what mpg the F430 GT cars get ? i bet its similarly bad ..

I agree wholeheartedly, much rather have a McLaren F1 than any of the current crop of >200MPH cars.

I'm sure I heard if you raced them both and let the F1 have ahead start and get to 100mph the Veyron will still waste it to 200mph.

Just watched a dvd of it being driven at my mates house, DVD came with latest Autocar I think and it was ace, speedo looked more like a rev counter as it just kept going and going ! Maddness !

Wasn't that the turbo of the EB110 whistling that was being driven along side it ? I'm sure it was you could hear it over everything else.

i think the figure is actually 120mph not 100mph. nobody can ignore the the huge performance gap the Veyron has, but then it does have almost 400bhp more than the Veyron.
to illustrate my point with an extreme example just look at a dragster. it will obliterate the Veyron...but is it a drivers car simply because it's faster in a straight line?
