hi well ive been searching the net for varoius mb's i am wanted to referbish my pc. atm i got a amd2 setup and i need a new pc with better preformance wen it comes to gaming this is wot i got in mind would be gratefull for ure opion on my setup and what u wud think and what kind of setup wouldm u have

here is my specs i like to have:

but i can decied between the three mb's here they are
[/U]

asus p6t7 ws super computer mb

evga classifed mb

or the gigabyte ex58 extreme

and the cpu and ram will be WITH Intel Core i7 975 3.33Ghz (Nehalem) Extreme Edition (Socket LGA1366) - Retail

OCZ Blade Series 6GB (3x2GB) DDR3 PC3-16000 Triple Channel (OCZ3B2000C9LV6GK)

i have allready 750watt psu from themale take (tough power) series so that should be ok i just need a new mb,cpu, and ram i got watercooling allready erm my gpu is a low profile 9600gt from galaxy but i dnt intend to keep it so ill be replcing it with either 2 (4870x2) or 2 nvida 8800gt in sli or crossfire mode. i dunno about nvida really ive allways been happy with ati but i here nvida cards are gd but there expensive to wot i can see. the main prob will be the grahics i want a card that will tear out frames on crysis wars online i mean high res and high settings the works. if anyone can make any surrgestions would be most gratfull thanks! bfn.

ohh p.s i dnt really have a budget yet i surrpose no more that 600 pounds i surrpose depends really what i can decied to get. :-!

No need AT ALL for a i7 975, or one of they over priced motherboards.

This would do all you need it to and much more tbh :)

Ummm, you say that you don't want to spend more than £600, yet you want to get an i975 EE??

That processor alone is £800!!!!

Anyway, like Kenny has already stated, the i920 would be perfectly fine, there really is no need for the 975...

Also, you said that you own a low profile 9600GT, and then go on to say that you are unsure about nVidia and that you have always been happy with ATI cards??!?!

Is this a joke thread.?

Wondering what to upgrade the graphics too, either 2 x 4870x2 or 2 x 8800GT

:s

yes i know i said that i only got the 9600gt cuz it was cheap and i needed one and i have mostly had ati cards. in my time i anit saying nvida are **** i mean there not bad just i dnt knw much on erm. i find ati cards have really gd overclockin bits on erm on the software and the 9600gt i got i got no overclocking opitions or any thing

yeh ive seen it for olike 800ish but i wait 4 it to come down or jst go for the 920 cuz thats like 200-300 qid atm init and its faily resiable for it as well i mean it is a intel so there u go. i havernt really made any figuers on how much i wanna spend but i wana good overclockable board for a i7 core cpu and 2 or 3 or more pci express 2.0 x16 slots with at least 3 slots or more of ddr3 ram moulde slots.

y wots so funyn about that i fort th 8800gt in sli or 3 or 4 of them together would be fast cuz the 8800gt i fink would be quiker that 2 4870's in crossfire i dunno like i said im not shure on wot i want tbh but i do knw i be gettin it here. iver got like 3 motherboards i do like and i deffo knw wot cpu and ram i want the grahpics would be a prob because i play crysis a lot and looking at benchmarks after benchmarks i here iisnt it true that haveing grahics in sli or crossfire that have 2 cores in each card dnt get used fully with crysis or summin?

hey guys

so can any one surrgest to me what motherboards out of the 3 i stated i should go with for overclocking a i7 core cpu to go over 4ghz speed

1x 4870x2 > 2x 8800GT

I find it hard to take this thread seriously.

EDIT: heres ur £600 i7 + mobo + RAM + GPU

LoL... this has to be a pi$$ take right???

Dude, you can't run 3 or 4 8800GT's in SLi, only 2 way SLI with 8800GT's...

Anyway, out of the three mobos you mentioned in your first post, I wouldn't go for any of them!!!

If I had to choose between those three, I personally would go for the Gigabyte Extreme, simply because it is the cheapest... P6T7 SuperComputer, and eVGA Classified are way overpriced IMO...

And if you really are planning on building an i7 rig and are not just fooling about then you should just go for something like the Asus P6T Deluxe V2, or the Gigabyte EX58 UD5 mobo instead... the UD5 is pretty much the exact same mobo as the Extreme, only difference being the NB cooling solution (the extreme comes with a waterblock and a big heatsink that looks terrible!!)..
