Gmail should offer a offer an automatic bad grammar/spelling folder

Moreover - new to me - radio4 article yesterday about the PDF substitution scam where bank payment details in emailed receipts had been modified, after recipients email password had been gained.

I had three of these emails the other day all of which had slightly different wording but were all the same subject. 1. I don't have and never have had a webcam or anyother video device connected to my pc. 2. I am a sad old git and don't have any contacts for my Hotmail account anyway. :D:D

On a side note I am now getting a shed load of spam emails supposedly from myself which I can't block!!

I suspect that one of the real issues with the well-known email services is that many users use some variant of their name as their email Id - e.g. [email protected]

To compound this, it is amazing how many people use easily guessed words as their pa55w0rd or qwertyuiop.

My passwords are all long randomly generated strings. However, in one of the many leaks over the past few years, one of my passwords and my casual internet email got out there. It wasn't a big deal, I just changed my password. However, I now get multiple attempts a week to login to my social media accounts using the correct email, but the wrong password. I guess they're trying the one that was originally leaked. Strong passwords and 2FA on everything does the trick though.

Dear Sender,

I don't know who you are. I don't know what you want. If you are looking for ransom, I can tell you I don't have money.
But what I do have are a very particular set of skills; skills I have acquired over a very long career.
Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you.
If you stop sending stupid emails to me, that'll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you.
But if you don't, I will look for you, I will find you, and I will kill you.

2FA is an absolute pain if you are regularly logging in and out of an account / accounts :(

It's getting better, many site / authentication app combos allow a one tap authentication instead of having to type in numbers now. Well worth a couple of taps to stay secure even if logging in frequently. (Most sites will use a cookie to remember you anyway on trusted PCs)

I had exactly the same one to my work email address, never opened the account on any device with a camera... if you google the "bitcoin" address you'll find lots of people saying its a blackmail scam
