Hi
I have run into a slightly odd problem with our network, namely when one of the normal wired PC's (cat5e to router) tries to transfer stuff to a machine that is connected by powerline network adaptors, the network connection for that normal machine goes down the pan.
IE in this very simple diagram if I send stuff from PC1 or PC2 to PC4 (via the homeplugs) the connection for the machine sending it goes to pot, this is despite the fact the homeplugs are only connecting at 20-30mb, and the connection from PC1/2 to the router is 1gbit (and able to download at 120mb normally).
Only PC4 is connected via homeplugs (because a wireless signal is typically terrible where it is).
Only the machine trying to send the data is affected, the others seem to be able to continue to work fine.
So if PC1 sends to PC4, PC1's connection to the internet falls apart (massive lag), but PC2 and 3 are fine.
If PC2 sends to PC4, PC2's connection to the internet falls apart, but 1 and 3 are fine.
If PC1 sends to 2 or 3 (or any other combination), the transfers are fine and the internet on them is unaffected.
Does anyone have any clues?
The strange thing is, that until I reinstalled PC4 the other week it didn't seem to happen, and PC4 has only had the bare bones install needed for media playback (drivers, AV, VLC, Zoomplayer).
