So i have just found out that one of the major retailers has received so far ZERO MSI Gaming Trio's so far!

Thats right.... Not a single card. They have had 3 deliveries of only the cheaper model.

So an entire month has passed since launch and no stock in the UK. They dont think anyone has received any stock of this card. If they did they got tiny numbers.

I have moved a whole 2 positions in the queue of over 900.

Any cards that are coming are being held back so they can sell full build gaming PC's.

I hope AMD come out with a good GPU so they can take away as many orders from Nvidia as possible. This paper launch is getting worse the more information that comes out.

If you are waiting on a Strix / Extreme or some other high end card i dont see anyone getting stock this year. The manufacturers are basically lying about the reality of supply.

This retailer claims all preorders should be fullfilled by end of November which as far as i can tell is a lie.

This is absolute unmitigated ********
System integration stock is handled through completely different channels to those put directly on sale. Stop spewing this crap

When they run out of SI cards what do you think they are using? my friend got a full PC build and he has a retail box with his 3080

Amazing, Just had an email and i have moved 22 places....

At this rate the other 900+ people are going to be waiting a long time.

There should be more of them about as they use the smaller GA104 chip, unfortunately this will be cancelled out by an even higher demand than has been seen for the GA102 cards.

You may not see the above reflected on this forum but in the real world demand for the 3070 will be very high.

why would there?

production lines are the issue as much as the chips.

Hilarious!

My point is, why does there have to be so many threads about the same thing? It really is cluttering up the place

What is there to talk about?

Nvidia and AMD.

One has launched with no cards and the other has no launch and also no cards.

What do you expect people to talk about?

I found it annoying that MSI have not delivered a single trio to one of the 2 major retailers. I checked with other retailers and they say the same.

How can you launch a product with no stock? They didnt even tell anyone.

the other begins with an E and the 3rd one with an A had Zero stock of any cards.

Only OCUK got some cards. They seem to be just forwarding pallets to retailers which is why some get some brands and others have gotten other brands. Another retailer has completely fulfilled preorders of PNY, Palit etc.

Or to increase your stock market share and get more investors. Dunno why, maybe they have a big purchase planned of another company somewhere...:confused:

thats not how it works. When you buy shares in Nvidia today Nvidia doesnt sell them to you.

Well i have a 3080 Aorus Extreme arriving tomorrow or monday that i ordered today.

The MSI will go to my friend who didnt get in the queue on day 1.

Sucks to be in those huge queues

It's not a high refresh card, mate. I have a 1440p 165Hz monitor and it can't push the refresh consistently. It looks like a CPU bottleneck but there's an architectural restriction of some kind going on that I don't really understand. As the resolution gets higher, the GPU performance gets better.

It's really a 4k card IMO.

Its something to do with FP32 and FP64 i think. (cant recall the exact terminology) Its designed to push more pixels than it is frames.

Its also likely why we dont see much improvement in frame rates with more mhz and overclocking of the GPU.

It used to be that more mhz = more frames but now they seem to favour more complex computations in order to provide better fill rates in larger textures and complex math such as DLSS and RT.

1440p is too low now and 4K is still to high imo. This is why i went for 3840x1600. 6 million pixels and 175hz should be a nice sweet spot to get the best of both.
