Hi all,
So I've got a new server that we need to plug in a few USB PCI-E cards for (its used as a hardware licensing server).
Simple enough right? ....No...
Turns out the cards need power in the form of a SATA connection and old floppy connection. The server only has 2x 8pin PCI-E rails spare.
Technical support have suggested I getting a 6 pin to molex/sata adapter, which I'm not aware existing this way around and I'm pretty sure is only going to do damage as the PCI-E provides +12V and the device probably needs +5V or +3.3V?
Does anyone have any suggestions as to what we can do or know of any connections that I could use?
Thanks
