Looking at buying a TV card for capturing from a VCR, via composite or RF cable. The Compro VideoMate C100 looks to be aimed at specifically this job, but would one of the more expensive dual cards do a better job?

All I want the card for is capturing a feed from a VCR, don't need to be able to watch live TV, or anything else. But if the quality of the rip will be improved then I'm more than happy to fork out for the duals, just want whatever offers the best quality for capture and converting an analogue signal.

With hauppauge go for any pci version their software is good. But then i haven't used any other make. Looking at the reviews on the ocuk site the compro dont look that bad

Pinnacle make cards designed for just that purpose, converting video from tape to make DVD's. The pci card connects to either s video or composite connections from either a vcr or a set top box.
