Depends on the display, you may notice it, you may not. In my experience, DVI doesn't really improve on VGA until you hit resolutions of 1680x1050 and beyond. At around 1280x1024 they're pretty much the same.
On my 1440x900 TFT the only advantage to using DVI over VGA was not having to use a DVI to VGA adapter on the Dual DVI graphics cards... So not really an advantage
