Are the benchmarks for AMD GPU's upto date using the latest drivers, or are they showing results from before the vastly improved performance (looking at bf3 mainly)?

I'm in the market for a worthy upgrade to my 5870 (1gb vram is killing me) so I want an upto date comparison based on the newer drivers etc.

Many thanks for any reply :)

No. The drivers for each of the graphics cards are the ones from the beginning of a generation so they don't show the Never Settle gains.

pretty sure its with pre 12.10 drivers (cant remember off hand)when the big leap came

I came from a 5870 to a 7850,not much difference at stock ill be honest but once you oc the 7850 youll see a difference, even more so using the latest beta drivers

I think the 7870xt or the 7950 is the sweetspot though for value vs performance

Oh, and given that the 7850 performs a tiny bit better than a 5870, you would be wanting to look at a 7950 or 670 as a minimum for an upgrade.

A 7850 would give you a bit better performance than a 5870 with its additional VRAM (2GB), but if you are going to spend that kind of money, you might as well go all the way and get the 7950 3GB card to avoid any future bottlenecks.

the 5870 wont oc anything like a 7850 though, plus it runs a lot lot cooler and uses less power, dont think ive ever seen mine go above 70c overclocked
